Cricket has a strong tradition at Birchwood Grove with teams featuring boys and girls from years three to six.

Last year (2017) our girls cricket team were incredibly successful as they were named as kwik cricket champions in Sussex. They also finished as runners up in the under-11 masters tournament. The year before (2016) our 'A' Kwik Cricket team made it all the way to the National Finals at Cambridge, where we finished in joint third place. In addition to this, our girls' team reached the semi-finals of the Sussex county championships and the year 3/4/5 mixed gender team were the winners of their county tournament.

Coaching for girls will begin later on in the Autumn term on a Wednesday morning between 8.15 till 8.45 a.m. and continues all the way through the year.

Coaching for boys started in September on a Wednesday afternoon between 3.15 till 4.15 p.m. with the elite squad chosen by trials later in the academic year.

As well as softball Kwik Cricket, there are oportunities for players to develop their skills by progressing to incrediball and hardball competitions, including a T20 competition for the U11 boys.
